Dawson WAM, in partnership with our JV partner Murphy, are proud to be working alongside Northern Ireland Water to deliver critical upgrades to the wastewater network in Knockbracken, South Belfast.
Commencing in late summer, this essential project involves the construction of a new screened Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) and a 2,200m³ stormwater storage tank. These upgrades will significantly enhance network capacity, improve environmental protection, and support future development in the area.
During the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) stage, ecological surveys identified badger setts near the construction area. Working collaboratively with our supply chain and engaging early with stakeholders, we secured the necessary NIEA licences and successfully relocated the badgers in accordance with environmental best practices.
With mobilisation and bulk excavation now complete, the project has reached an important milestone. Stay tuned for updates as we move into the next phase!
